Privacy Policy
Effective date: 23 August 2026
Short version: profiles, captured jobs, documents, application history and settings are stored locally in Chrome. Zautomatic Apply has no developer AI backend. You decide what to send to a third-party AI service.
Data the extension handles
When you choose to use a feature, Zautomatic Apply may handle:
- profile and contact details you enter, including your name, email, phone number, address, date of birth, gender, nationality, and optional disability information;
- employment, education, skills, qualifications and other résumé information;
- the text, URL and form-field structure of job or application pages you explicitly capture;
- CVs, cover letters, attachments, generated PDFs, application history and settings;
- a prompt created from the selected profile and captured pages; and
- an AI answer that you manually copy back into the extension.
Where data is stored
Your extension data is stored locally in your Chrome profile using Chrome storage and IndexedDB. Zautomatic Apply does not operate a developer server for profiles, captured pages, documents or AI generation.
You may export an optional backup file. That file is saved wherever you choose and remains under your control. Optional password protection is performed locally.
Manual third-party AI workflow
Zautomatic Apply has no built-in LLM provider. It prepares a prompt and copies it only after your click. You paste it into any LLM chat you choose, decide whether to send it, and manually copy the answer back. If you save a chat URL, the optional “Paste prompt” helper inserts text only after your click. The extension never presses Send, reads the chat's answer, or controls your account.
Information you submit to an LLM chat is processed under that service's own privacy policy and account settings. Review the prompt before sending it.
Form filling, files and final submission
The extension accesses job pages so it can capture fields, fill fields after your explicit command and place locally generated files into upload controls after your explicit command. It never clicks the final application-submission button. Review every field and attachment before submitting.
Permissions
- storage / unlimitedStorage: keep profiles, captured jobs, documents and settings locally.
- downloads: export PDFs, ZIP archives, CSV files and backups that you request.
- debugger: use Chrome's print-to-PDF capability for locally rendered documents. It is not used to inspect network traffic or browsing activity.
- webNavigation: identify frames belonging to a page you ask the extension to capture or fill.
- sidePanel: provide the main workflow beside a job page.
- website access: work on job-application pages chosen by the user and show the user-clicked prompt helper on a selected AI website.
Sharing and selling
Zautomatic Apply does not sell personal data. It does not share data with the developer, advertisers or data brokers. Data reaches a third-party AI provider only when you choose to submit the prepared prompt on that provider's website.
Retention, deletion and security
Local data remains until you delete it in the extension, restore a different backup, clear the extension's data, or uninstall the extension. You can delete exported files through your operating system.
The extension does not load remote executable code. Sensitive application data stays in your Chrome profile unless you deliberately export it or send a prompt to a third-party AI service.
Limited Use
Zautomatic Apply's use and transfer of information complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Children, changes and contact
The extension is intended for people managing their own job applications and is not directed to children under 13.
Material changes will be reflected by updating this policy and its effective date. For privacy or support questions, use the Support section on the Zautomatic Apply Chrome Web Store listing.
